How a brigs and Stratton 250cc twin engine cost? Plan to put on a mini chopper or build a scooter for my little girl.
A 18-30 hp Briggs V-Twin is great for a mini-chopper well designed, but at least your gran-daughter is old enough to have a license, it is probably a bit much for a mini-bike.
For a child, I suggest a 3-4 cylinder horses adapted to about 30 mph. Tecumseh makes engines only for the purpose.
Btw, many fans are Cushman Briggs V-twin and Comet CVT drives on Cushman Eagle scooter. Some reach top speeds of 100 mph.

This application would require a horizontal shaft engine.
That would be their Vanguard series engine. These motors are commonly used in generators.
They do not make these models V-twin until you get up to 480 CC, 14 HP models.
Model 294447-1155. Weighs 86 lbs. $ 795.00
About $ 800-1000, but they are on the 450 + cc
A Lifan 250cc twin is also $ 800, but has a gearbox. (Ebay)
I have a 16HP Briggs V-twin it was origionally on a go-kart with a CVT tranny (another $ 300). Absolute MONSTER engine for a toy children. With 22''pneus ATV easily accelerated up a hill, might block a rear wheel and it rolled backwards occationally on flat ground. I do NOT suggest to any child. I have a 185cc Suzuki quad and it beats my neighbors 300cc 4X4.
If you want a simple Lifan engine off eBay as 100 to 150cc with all cables, etc. No carb tranny / shaft when they built the gearbox. They are on 8HP and is plenty for a child.
