Coffee Bean Storage

Coffee Bean StorageIf you freeze your coffee beans used for storage?

The cafe has four main enemies freshness cons: air, heat, light and moisture. Initially, the gel does not appear to contain numerous foes crime. However, appearances can be deceptive.

Roasting coffee beans gives much of its flavor. The roasted beans are porous. Unfortunately, the beans can absorb other flavors over the undesirable flavor of coffee you want. Freezers often contain many smells you do not want in your coffee. Some flavors might be nice, but nobody wants to drink onion and seafood flavored coffee.

In addition to absorb flavors, coffee can also absorb unwanted moisture. The moisture can cause deterioration of coffee beans, resulting in loss of flavor. The more time you take coffee in and out of the freezer, the more moisture can be absorbed into the grain. If you decide that you need to freeze large quantities of coffee, the freeze once. Once you get out of the freezer, use within 1-2 weeks.

The oils in roasted coffee beans are an important part of making a good cup of coffee. Freezing, however, can destroy the flavor oils in roasted coffee beans. When oils break, the flavor is compromised give another reason to stay away from putting your coffee in the freezer.

To summarize, the coffee gel has some drawbacks. It is best to store coffee in a cool, dry place in a tightly closed container away from light. Freezing coffee is possible, and do less damage if you do not freeze once. Be sure to seal the beans as closely as possible to prevent moisture and odors is in. Your best bet is to buy only enough coffee for consumption within 1-2 weeks. In this way, you will not even need to go near the freezer and you can enjoy coffee at the peak of its flavor!
