Consumer Reports Coffee Makers

Consumer Reports Coffee MakersHow do you decide to buy a coffee maker? What are the things you want? What are the things ...?

... Avoid? Give examples
What brands? Which ones are better than others? Not only with Consumer Reports, (I looked there already) How do you decide on one in particular?

I had a Bunn in the past that has lasted several years, in fact, he was still working when I let him go. I now have a Hamilton Beach Brewstation and decided that I do not like that. I also had a cheaper one in the past, I believe that Proctor Silex just drip-frills. I also had a Senseo and gave that distance. I did not like the taste of the pod ... too strong, and tastes "had the same taste.

I want to know about those who put the coffee directly into the thermal carafe. Does anyone have one of these? Are they worth it? Give me your opinion on this type. I know that other coffee starts bad taste real quick, how about this?

Is it the coffee or coffee that is the problem? Please help! I need a solution before Christmas.

I can only speak of what I ...

But if you do not need a full pot every time, then the one we use, Braun KF600, is large. It has a thermal pot, so it is cool to the touch, but especially not "cook" your coffee once it is made. Normally, we make our coffee about 6:30 to 7:00 and 10:00 30-11 hours it is still hot (it is recommended to wash the pot with hot water if you do not plan to drink it all once for the pot is not "cold" when the hot coffee is made. It just helps keep the coffee hot longer.

It will be a pot, but we do drink about 5-6 cups, so why waste the coffee.

Brewing coffee is the chemistry, like you know already, you need the right amount of water to the proper temperature for extracting the coffee flavor right. Despite some people thinking we're crazy, we use 1 tablespoon of coffee per 6 ounces of water, and it is an excellent coffee. Not too strong, IMO, it just has a rich taste to it.

About ever 2-3 months, we run white vinegar through the machine, then 2-3 runs a little water to clean the machine taste of vinegar. It really makes a difference in the taste of coffee.

We also had our Braun for 4 + years (if we do not have the 600, we could have the old model). We reviewed and the CR considers the reviews on Amazon with this machine). It was well worth the money we paid for it.

In addition, another point is to look at / for a French press ... is one of the best coffee you can do. Many times you can find a French press at Rosses, TJ Max, Tuesday morning or other discount store for $ 10 or less ... Although we do not use every day, we use 3 or 4 times a week, usually at night when we're in no hurry. The two keys to the French press, IMO, is as follows:

1) Do not boil water if it starts to boil, allow to cool before putting it in the press, if it burns the beans

2) Follow the signs for the amount of coffee to use.

If coffee is too strong, he infused less time in the press, if it is not strong enough, more brewing. I found some of the best tasting coffee ever. I thought maybe it was just me, but my parents, siblings and step-parents have bought them since they were mine:)

Hope this helps.

You select one based on the features you want. When you find one, check the reviews on Amazon. You will find opinions on each.

I found an espresso and coffee combo. At Amazon, everyone loved, but they said the button on the front were a bad idea because they could be started accidentally. I bought it anyway.

Indeed, a few months later, a switch was hit and burned in the machine. I had to pay more attention to the notice.

I bought a.
