Cream Microwave

Cream MicrowaveUse your microwave for dinner half an hour: Meatloaf, carrots and ice cream with fudge sauce

Cruise past the fast food windows and driving and head home to your own kitchen. You can have a good meal on the table about half an hour. This meal is simple, easy, fast, inexpensive, and best of all, very good. The microwave oven is one of your best friends for quick meals. This menu has the advantage of the microwave with a meatloaf easy microwave in a bag that requires only 15-17 minutes to cook. The Sunday glazed carrots also cook in the microwave in minutes. The Rocky Road Fudge sauce that goes on the dish of ice cream can be made in the microwave, too.

Meatloaf MICROWAVE easy in a BAG

ground beef 1 1 / 2 lbs
1 1 / 2 lb. cups of mixed granular type stuffing seasoned with herbs
1 / 2 cup water
1 egg
1 tsp tsp salt
1 / 8 teaspoon pepper
1 / 4 cup barbecue sauce
1 cup flour c. soup
January 10 x 16 inch cooking bag

Mix beef with stuffing mix, water, egg, salt, pepper and barbecue sauce. Mix well and shape mixture into a loaf. Scatter flour on the inside bottom of cooking bag that was placed in an oven for 12 x 8 inch pan or dish. Place the meatloaf in the bag. Close bag and a 2-inch X bar high so that the steam can escape. Place the pan and cook in microwave 15-17 minutes until cooked through. If you do not have a turntable in your microwave, turn, give the dish a quarter every 4 minutes. Let stand 5 minutes before slicing.

Sunday Glazed Carrots

6-8 medium carrots
Quarter cup butter
1 / 2 cup brown sugar
1 / 4 cup cold water
1 tsp tablespoon cornstarch
1 / 2 cup pecans, coarsely chopped, optional

Wash and cut the carrots into slices 1/2-inch. Place in 1 1/2-quart saucepan with butter and brown sugar. Cover and cook in microwave for 10 min. Mix water and cornstarch until smooth. Stir cornstarch mixture into the carrot. Add pecans, if using. Cover and cook about 5 minutes more.

Rocky Road Fudge Sauce

1 package (12-oz) chocolate chips semisweet
1 jar (7 ounces) marshmallow cream
1 / 3 cup milk
1 / 2 cup miniature marshmallows
1 / 2 cup chopped pecans

In a large saucepan over low heat, combine chocolate chips, marshmallow cream, and milk. Cook, stirring until the mixture is smooth. Stir in marshmallows and nuts. Serve over ice cream, pound cake or angel cake. Makes 2 cups.

To microwave: In a microwaveable bowl-proof, put the chocolate chips, marshmallow cream and milk. Bake 3-4 minutes until smooth, stirring halfway. Stir in marshmallows and nuts.

Enjoy!
