Kitchenaid 6qt Mixer

Kitchenaid 6qt MixerKitchenAid Mixer - 5qt vs. 6QT - Artisan vs. Pro?

I want to buy a KitchenAid mixer. I'm trying to decide if I really need the mixer 6QT professional. I'd rather not spend the extra $ 100 if I did not need.

I mainly intend to use it for making cakes, biscuits, scones, things like that at home. I doubt I'll ever make bread (which seems to make a difference?) And I rarely do more revenue-high-..

Any idea what are the main difference between the two? And also between 5qt Artisan vs. Pro?

I think I saw something on the Pro may not be the attachments in the dishwasher? I know there are different horses or other - but is it necessary for someone extra who just wants to make simple recipes at home?

Thank you for any help!

I have two Kitchen Aid mixers. A 4.5 quarts and 5 liters. I do not think they do, even more than the 4.5 one, is that old but it still works! Did not the power that my five quarters but he always gets the job.

Personally, I would not spend the extra for the Pro since you really are a home baker. Now if you started a bakery that would be another story.

And I do not worry about the craftsman and the bread is. I make bread on a regular basis and use my 5-quart mixing and kneading the dough enough for 2 large loaves at a time.

Your basic differences are the Artisan offers a head tilt, the Pro head does not tilt the bowl up and down. The Pro Bowl is 1 quart largest motor and has much bigger because of this bowl wide and deep. I've never had either one of my drummers abandon the fight when something mix. And I dabble in the catering, baking like crazy for the holidays and all that.

Spend the extra $ 100 on one of the kits with accessories such as food disposer / one. I use the hell out of that one! I make my own tomato sauce from fresh tomatoes. I also do a lot of applesauce house and food mill, there is so much easier. He pushes the pulp and juice in one direction and the seeds and skins go to the other. We make our own sausages when I can catch a sale on some pork because the family always loves my house better.

I also cutting and grinding as a package and I do not use. My mother never had and used a food processor and insisted that one for me. I have a KitchenAid food processor does all the work. I used the grinding module to determine pickles and such, but I'm not that often true.

Probably not ... Unless you plan to do lots of really important to the firm dough mixer, you can get away with the artisan. The pro has a larger mixing bowl, and aluminum and steel mixing attachment instead of plastic on the craftsman. The only other difference I'm aware others of a more powerful engine on the pro is that the craftsman has a tilt to the head, while the pro has a handle to lift the bowl mixer. Personally, whatever, I spend the extra money for the pro ... it will probably last longer and you will not have to buy attachments replacement ever.

For home networking standard, I stick with the Artisan 5qt. I use one at home for much the same purpose, you say, cakes, cookies, etc. I assume that the additional capacity and perhaps the motor speed of the Pro would be useful for some applications, but I am very happy without.

The attachments are not dishwasher-safe on any model. I do not recommend putting it all in the dishwasher to be honest, your bowl will remain much longer looking better if you wash by hand.

I have the base model (or what is called the base model 20 years ago). The 5 liter and works very well for me. I did everything from a sponge dough, cheesecake, sausages, bread and just about everything else you can imagine.

For.
