Rt 200 Supreme Commander - Rts of unprecedented scale So you have played through your strategy games in real time and become bored of the same thing over and over again. You want something big, better, more complex. Well, Gas Powered Games has given us Supreme Commander, a RTS unprecedented scale. And I mean huge, you do not have a base of some buildings, you use dozens, hundreds of other resources on farms. You do not build a couple tanks and send them to annihilate the enemy. You build strategic missiles and long-range artillery to soften up the enemy, then move your army of 200 units in their base. Supreme Commander (SupCom popularly called) is incredibly high, and sets a new standard for RTS. The story takes place in 3844 CE, after humans have colonized much of the galaxy. After several events, three factions emerged: the United Earth Federation, trying to restore order in the galaxy, the Cybran Nation, a group of human-AI cyborgs trying to liberate their brothers, and the Aeon Illuminate, the Man has taught "The Way" by an alien race and trying to spread their beliefs in the rest of humanity. You start off in a battle with an armored unit of command or the ACU. This is the basic unit, and you can start building all other units and buildings. The CUA is supported by engineers who can build more buildings, but at a slower pace. Air, land, sea and factories produce units, while the mass extractors and power generators produce resources. Mass is in the process of construction and energy is used to operate buildings and units. Resources are stored in the storage, but if you miss, you do not stop construction. The resources you use more than you do not really slowing you produce units and buildings. Factories can be upgraded to Tech 1-2 and 3 technicians, allowing production of better units and better engineers, who can construct buildings higher level. Overall, each faction can produce about 30-40 different types of units and approximately the same number of different buildings. At low levels, units of each faction perform about the same, but at higher levels, they diversify. Each faction also has three unique experimental units that can easily change the course of the battle, but are very expensive to produce. SupCom solo campaign gives each of the three factions six missions. Although it does not seem much, each mission is extended several times, and can last several hours. In the first, the player is restricted to low-level units, which can be very annoying. The only way to defeat your enemy is to build a large number of units and throwing them to the enemy constantly. During the last two missions, you go to Tech 3 units and buildings, which allows you to bring your own strategy. The skirmish and multiplayer catch up with many maps and options to play with. The distribution maps of size 5 km x 5 km 81 km x 81 km. The larger maps are perhaps the biggest even seen in the RTS and may take several hours to complete. SupCom also, in all probability the most nuclear explosions in any game round to win, you must destroy the enemy's ACU, which detonates nuclear. Nuclear missiles are also the best way to destroy the enemy base. However, each attack has a defense, and nuclear missiles can be stopped. So if you are experienced with RTS and looking for something more, visit the Supreme Commander. It has a learning curve, so I do not recommend it for experienced players. The scale is enormous, and allows players to find multiple strategies to ensure that no game is still playing the same way. For those tired of traditional RTS, SupCom brings a whole new definition and the level of play. Posted on July 2, 2010.
