Steamer Clams

Steamer ClamsDoes anyone know if someone is still preserved steam clams?

Several years ago, a local grocery store used to carry a big box (maybe 40 oz or SO) clam steam. These are all clams, shell and all. My family would open the top of the box, and put it in a pan of simmering water until hot.

I have not seen this product in years and I wanted to know if anyone has seen, and this store carries it. I do not remember the brand name, but it was a light blue label, and as I said, it was a very large can.

Ideas?

I've never seen this product and I am a lover of the great sea. I need raw clams in the shell at the seafood section of the food ... Since they must be cooked alive, I do not see how they could be "canned"???

Sheesh. Two non-answer - as usual for Yahoo Answers.
Everything is cooked canned (pasteurized) or it would go wrong. Therefore, they are cooked. And expensive ... Zandelia If you've never seen, then you do not answer .. so do not report abuse

Hey Shane. I found your question when i was looking on the web for the answer to that question. I loved these vapors. We would like to add a little butter in the broth. The brine was really great. A cost about $ 4 for 40 oz can. The label has been printed on itself can, I believe, and sold at Publix. Report Abuse

Do you live in a seaside town? Maybe it was a local company. I have never seen such a product myself.
